It’s end of year evaluations time. As you reflect on your accomplishments, what are you
most proud of? What did you do to move your goals and the goals of your company
forward? My guess is the list is long and meaningful.
Don’t mistake this opportunity as a task that must be done, rather consider it a way to
tell leadership the story of your year. Invest time in memorializing your
accomplishments. This is particularly important when you work remotely as your impact
is not as visible. Move past the simple summary of tasks completed and tie it to back to
the strategies and the impact your specific contributions.
Consider your manager’s perspective as they read your summary to evaluate your
performance and impact against others. What do they need to know? Include
accomplishments from early in the year they may have forgotten. Be concise but
comprehensive. Don’t put the burden of finding the value you provide on them, outline it
for them.
Now, take a few minutes to revel in the impact you have had! We don’t do this often
enough.
How will you carry your momentum into 2026?
